Postoperative bile Duct Strictures


Abstract
Oostoperative bile duct strictures is one of the most difficult problems for the biliary surgeon, because it produces biliary cirrhosis, portal hypertension, cholangitis which make the lifethreatening events.
Over than 90% of postoperative bile duct strictures are followed by cholecystectomy without cholangiography and 0.5~1.0 cases are occurred every 1000 cholecystectomy.
Every biliary surgeon must have an enough caution not to injury bile duct during operation. If there are some problems suggest bile duct injury, surgeon must perform an operative cholangiography to check, whether common bile duct injury of not,
and
do
adequate surgical repairs.
Now I have a collective review of postoperative bile duct stricture, especially in pathogenesis and comparative studies between surgical repair and non-operative management.
